Video: [Hypnos] For a little change of tone...
There's no visual, just a blank screen as voices start to fill the blankness. Snatches of conversations stand out.
"...Vega..."
"...President Clinton said..."
This sound starts playing, like it's across the room. With each successive pulse, however, the sound intensifies until it's almost deafening...when it stops as suddenly as it started. Replacing it is a distinctly German voice, one that most people might recognize as Hitler's.
"Ich verkünde die Spiele von Berlin, zur Feier der 11. Olympiade neuer Zeitrechnung, als eröffnet."
There's cheering all around! It fades, though, until there's just the sound of the pulsing signal, which stays quietly in the background of the entire transmission.
A hissing kettle...
The sound of kissing and a sharp intake of breath...
"Kent! Put the toilet seat down!"
Running feet slapping against bare floors...
Dogs barking and a child's giggle...
The roar of an animal and Hitler's voice is back, repeating his speech, but it slowly fades into the dulcet tones of Kermit the frog.
"Kermit the frog here! Here's a duckling! Keep it safe!"
"I will, Kermit. I will."
"...Vega..."
"...President Clinton said..."

...My German's rusty to nonexistent, but the Berlin Olympics?
audio
Yes. Hitler's opening address to the public and the first television broadcast.
audio
Hitler, again? It's always Nazis lately.

...this is not a conversation I thought I'd ever have.

Re: audio
I don't, either! I just happened to be the only one in the room who knew German at the time.

And I think you mean Statler and Waldorf. They're wonderful.
