A woman of middle age goes to a seamstress to have a dress made for her wedding with her fourth husband. She asks that it must be a pure, brilliant white. The seamstress, not possessing many professional boundaries, points out that white is traditionally the colour of a virgin bride, and if this is her fourth wedding then surely...?
"Oh, no," the woman says. "My first husband was a psychiatrist, so he only wanted to talk about it. My second was a gynaecologist, so he only wanted to study it. The third was a stamp collector..." She sighs disconsolately. "I do miss him."
