I can explain away them in the mirror. A bit of regret. Repressed guilt. Maybe even misplaced hope. Searle would give me time in the earth room to get over it, so here I am. The closest damn thing to an earth room as I'm going to get.

Uh. Okay. It was three years ago. My parents and I had just moved to Oregon, into this big old house that was broken up into apartments. We got a couple of floors in the main part of the house, these two old ladies, Miss Spink and Miss Forcible, live in the basement apartment and this weird old guy named Mr. Bobinsky lives in the top floor apartment.

Anyway, when we moved in I found this weird little door in the living room, but it was behind the wallpaper. I was super bored so I asked my mom to open it up, but it was all bricked up.

But that night I had this dream that I went through the door and on the other side was this place that looked just like where I had just come from except amazing. Everything was perfect. But everyone had button eyes.
