There might be another way. My parents - [It's hard for her to mention them, knowing what she does now. Emma had so much faith in who they were and what they stood for. Finding out that they made the choice they did for her doesn't inspire the same confidence they did before. They're just such a huge part of her life that no matter how angry she is, she still thinks of them.] and my son, Henry, all had some pretty bad nightmares as the side effect of a sleeping curse.

My dad's trick is to light a candle and leave it by the bed. He says it catches nightmares. [Whether it's true or not, Henry bought into it until most of the nightmares wore away.] Eventually, that might be something to try. You can't stay awake forever.

[Think of it as a safety net, just in case.]

But since that won't help you tonight, we could just keep asking each other questions.
