backdated to June 3rd, 8:15AM. (VIDEO) TRIGGER WARNINGS, Death, murder, violence, etc
( it's not too long after the girl was found, but long enough. there's no clear evidence as to who did it, as far as Hook can tell, and granted he's probably not the best person to arm the masses... it's just that somebody has to. this is not the first death, apparently, yet it is the first murder (as far as he's aware). and they've all got enough to worry about here, there can't be murders on top of it.
it's rare that a pirate finds people so morally repugnant but once upon a time he left the navy because he found his king deplorable. if nobody else is going to do something, he will; no matter how uncharacteristic it seems, all things considered. )
I don't know who did this, but it was somebody in this hotel. I'm sure they thought they'd get away with it, but they won't. That little girl didn't deserve to die, to be some sick message.
( it doesn't matter that she might come back, not to him. he won't be able to rest, nor function, knowing there is someone roaming the halls willing to murder. it's impossible to say if it was a test, for fun, just for attention, to get a laugh out of the people trapped... it doesn't matter. whoever it was, why they did it, it isn't as important as finding them and making sure it doesn't happen twice. )
Somebody did this, and I say we find out who did it and make sure they can't do it again. Somebody had to have heard something, saw something. There's got to be answers here, and there's nobody but us to make sure this girl gets justice.
If she does come back, I want her to know she's safe from whoever did this to her.
If you heard something, then speak up. Privately, if you prefer, but say something. Or this can and will happen again. If we don't act, trust me, it will. If that's alarming, it bloody should be. Whoever this is won't stop unless we make them.
( he can't be the only one alarmed by this. that wants to do something. he's relying on people being willing to take his side, because he's going to need it to enforce any kind of justice in this place.
and it's more than just that, sadly. why is the pirate giving so many public service announcements? )
Try not to go anywhere alone. Stay with someone you trust, more than one someone if you can manage it. Keep both eyes open and lock your doors. If you feel threatened, be as loud as you can, there's too many of us here not to hear something. These sorts won't stop when they start, and the last thing we need is another test to see what will happen.
( ooc: keep an eye out, there will be a plotting post regarding this sometime tomorrow! )

We need a plan for how to proceed, preferably something most people can agree on.

these doors are close to unbreakable, apparently, I'd suggest room arrest.
private
If it's one of the people we've been warned about, they might have help.
private
( if we're just going to point fingers at all villains, then he's on the list, too. )
there's too many of us and what, three of them? we have the majority here.
private
[ There might be some truth to it, it's worth looking into. ]
How many times have we had the majority in Storybrooke and suffered because of one person? We need a plan.
private
( that hadn't been his first thought but his first thought was doused in bias. more reaction than logic. Emma tends to have good instincts, good enough that even Hook finds them more commendable on his own. )
all right, a plan. whatever it is, we need to do something.
I don't want to be without you tonight. I'll sleep on the floor.
( .....not quite the plan she meant there, Jones. )
private
[They seem fully committed to torturing living people, not dead ones. People have named threats in the building, they all should have been more careful. They should have tried to protect this girl.]
I know.
You're not going to sleep on the floor.
private
( he has seen this sort of slippery slope in action before. in Neverland, people did not come back from death; the fact they might here does not take away the alarm in all this. )
I know you said you wanted space, I wish I didn't have to ask. I just need to be with you.
( he doesn't care where she puts him as long as she's not alone. Emma doesn't need to be protected, she has saved herself on more than one occasion, but if something is going to go wrong he doesn't want her to face it alone. )
private
[It's not their style. In some ways, it might be even worse.]
It's okay, I want to be with you, too.
private
I wish I thought it was the hotel. we already knew this place was against us.
( they already knew the hotel was against them. they didn't need the lingering fear that everyone else was a threat on top of it. )
if we stay close we will both be safer. this could get worse if things escalate.
private
[ Maybe that's why certain people were brought here. ]
Can we just be together because we want to, and not because it's the safe thing to do?
private
Emma, I always want to be with you. when it's safe and when it's dangerous. when we are back home, when we are here, it doesn't matter. I'll always want to be with you.
private
private
( so far, nothing to find. just like everything else in this place. )
private
private
( he'd go straight up to her door but he doesn't think Emma would appreciate the idea she can't take care of herself. she can, but right about now he doesn't know how far that will protect anyone anymore. )
private
[ Emma can take care of herself, but having a murderer on the loose would make anyone cautious. It feels like if something does go wrong, it'll be beyond their control. ]
