( he's a very serious, very scary, evil handed pirate, all right, and don't you dare forget it, but there are a few things that can unsettle even a pirate.

his heart may be black but it's still bloody there, and little wailing lasses that run from him the second he tries to get close stings, a little. does he really look so dastardly? or maybe she's just afraid. . .

either way you slice it, he's incredibly unnerved and at least a little bit concerned. )

Has anyone seen that wee girl? I tried to speak to her but the second I got close she ran off towards the stairs.

( he's looked for awhile. he's not even sure how she could move so damn fast, and suddenly be so silent. he could have sworn. . . )

She's got to be around somewhere. A tiny little thing, seemed upset. I can't be the only one that saw her.

I've seen her

[ Thea has since but her room back together after wrecking it that first night, and she's laying on her stomach on her made bed, her tablet propped up against against her pillows. Her elbow rests on the bed and her chin on her hand, her eyebrows arched thoughtfully. ]

Maybe the hotel's haunted.

( look, sorry, he hasn't seen The Ring or The Grudge, he is very unaware of creepy ghost girl trope. )

Let's see... [ Thea starts ticking things off her fingers as she lists them. ] People are only really catching glimpses of her, she disappears suddenly, she's a little girl in a hotel that none of use can leave.

[ Thea lowers her hands, arching an eyebrow. ]

Have you never seen any scary movies?

[villainously]

( has he seen any scary movies? well there was that odd bit of static playing in the screening room, and then the one with the rather unattractive fellow that ... well maybe it was supposed to be scary. )

( yup, he's totally selling that lie, Thea. totally selling it, despite the long note of consideration and a bit of confusion on his face. )

[ She looks like maybe she doesn't quite believe him, but decides to give him the benefit of the doubt. ]

Then you know this whole thing is something straight out of a scary movie. Complete with the creepy little ghost girl.

I guess I missed that one, love, but all the same it'd be a movie, yeah?

We're not a movie.

( he's guessing on that, but he's pretty sure that movies are sort of like, moving pictures with sound. he watched a little tv when he was hospitalized in Storybrooke but the nurses assured him they weren't real, just recordings. )

There's a high chance there's a frightened little girl afoot and we should do something about it, I say.

Is there a part of this whole thing that doesn't scream Saw III to you?

[ But he's probably right. This isn't how movies work. It's how nightmares work. But in that case, it's a really, really long nightmare. ]

What do you suppose we do when she's running away from everyone who tries to help her?

( what on earth does three saws have to do with anything? he doesn't even know what to say to that.

If she's been separated from her parents, she's likely frightened. Hard to trust a bunch of faces you don't know, especially when you are lost and alone.

[ Thea nods agreeably, but there's a touch of impatience there, too. ]

Yeah, that makes sense. But what are you going to do about it? Trap her? Coax her out with treats and toys? [ She tilts her head thoughtfully. ] I haven't seen anyone claiming her. I don't think she has parents here.

If she's got nobody to take care of her, then someone will have to step in.

( okay, yeah, trapping a scared little girl is not the most brilliant plan he's ever had, but to trap her to help her isn't that bad, is it? )

I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't, but we can't just let her run about the place on her own. We've got to do something.

Will you be the one who takes care of her? You know, once you manage to trap her.

[ There are so many holes in this plan. ]

Maybe she'd be more likely to come to someone who's less tall and brooding and scary.

[villainously]

( wow, Thea, you should be a life coach. tall brooding and scary, is he. )

Look, love, I don't care who minds her, she's just a girl and she needs someone, and all you lot are on about ghosts and movies.

I'm still not convinced she's not a ghost, and I think you'd be more inclined to agree if you'd actually seen more scary movies.

On the off chance she's not a little ghost, I'll look for her anyway.
