( he's a very serious, very scary, evil handed pirate, all right, and don't you dare forget it, but there are a few things that can unsettle even a pirate.
his heart may be black but it's still bloody there, and little wailing lasses that run from him the second he tries to get close stings, a little. does he really look so dastardly? or maybe she's just afraid. . .
either way you slice it, he's incredibly unnerved and at least a little bit concerned. )
Has anyone seen that wee girl? I tried to speak to her but the second I got close she ran off towards the stairs.
( he's looked for awhile. he's not even sure how she could move so damn fast, and suddenly be so silent. he could have sworn. . . )
She's got to be around somewhere. A tiny little thing, seemed upset. I can't be the only one that saw her.

I saw her. I've seen her twice. It's like she...vanishes into thin air.
no subject
Twice? Shouldn't we search for her, then? She's too little to be off on her own.
( maybe someone that isn't a frigtening pirate should try talking to her. just a thought. )

[He hadn't seen her yet, but he's pretty sure he's seen things out of the corner of his eye. Maybe that was it?]
It's one thing trapping us all here, but a kid?
[Ressler's tone is full of disgust.]
no subject
Aye, it's bloody dreadful.
Might be she's got someone minding her ( but they're not doing it well, in his opinion ) but she's quite troubled and doesn't seem as if she lets anyone close.

All the same. Time to make nice and think of a good cover story. Which means ...being social.]
That's certainly ominous.

( no, the sad thing is he's right, the girl was incredibly unnerving, Hook just doesn't want to admit it. )

[Imaging that there are children around because she misses her kid isn't that much of a stretch, is it?]
. . . Maybe she's a part of this.

he pauses at the last bit. freezing rooms is one thing, but to use a little girl to unsettle the clientele is a bit of a stretch. . .

( But then he'd tried offering her pastry, and telling a story, and that hadn't worked, either. Björn is a big guy, but this has unnerved him, too. )
She likes the big room called the lobby, so far as I've seen. I'd like to know where her parents are.
( Because while there's a possiblity that she's a spirit, it's not one he immediately wants to jump to. Spirits don't belong in Midgard. )

( if she's disappeared on multiple people, surely there's someplace she's hiding when she's frightened. . . he can't quite tell if there's someone to mind her, but it doesn't seem so. )
That's where I saw her first, aye. And I'd like to know the same. ( and if she doesn't have any, they should do something.
he's not volunteering to watch the little thing, but she shouldn't be alone. )

[ It didn't help that he didn't actually try to talk to her. He thought about it, but by the time he made up his mind, she had already run off. ]
Maybe we should try to find her family? Or...I don't know. Something like that.
no subject
( but for him, it's not much of a consolation. )
Suppose that would be a secondary solution. Surely she's hiding somewhere upstairs, it's hard to miss a crying girl.

[ Thea has since but her room back together after wrecking it that first night, and she's laying on her stomach on her made bed, her tablet propped up against against her pillows. Her elbow rests on the bed and her chin on her hand, her eyebrows arched thoughtfully. ]
Maybe the hotel's haunted.

Why would you suggest that?

[ He shrugs. ]
I'm not so sure you're gonna be able to catch her. Someone chased her up to the stairs when I was comin' down, and-
[ His brow wrinkles a little, lips turning down, something almost sympathetic in his expression. ]
You can see through her. She's not all there, she's- I don't think she's alive.
no subject
So don't mind if she adds in her two cents here, frowning at his description of the little girl.]
See, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Horror movie ghost.
[Which, if nothing else, points to Neal not being anything less than totally alive. Now they actually have something to compare him to.]
